Sarangan Lake, A Beautiful Lake Behind Mount Lawu

Sarangan is a hill station favored by the Dutch in colonial days. It is half way between Madiun and Solo. The village straddles the southern slope of Mount Lawu, an inactive volcano. At an altitude of 1,287 meters evenings are chilly. Sarangan Lake that also called Pasir Lake is stay at mount Lawu foot; it’s about 16km (west side) from Magetan city. The tourists can enjoy the nature scenery. The wide of Sarangan Lake is 30 Ha with its depth 28 meters, and its cold air with temperature 18-25 C. There are various facilities in this area, such as; hotel, restaurants, paddle canoe, play ground and horses, which has supplied for the tourists from various region and even foreign tourist. The cullinary is so good. Some food stall may closed before sunset, but if you asked for their open hour, they  will said its open until night . we just arrive and we had late lunch there and almost of the food is cheap ( we should asked the price before you order) . after we finished the lunch we walk straight to the lake . it was so wide lake and make us feel so happy cos less sun and a bit cool . some people offering us for rent speed boat but we refuse because they drive so fast and most of the passanger didnt wear the life jacket. we just walked and see some people use horse for rounding this place. because this is our last destination so we walk slowly and enjoy the atmosphere. at the first impression we reject to walk round but finally we did it. still see the beautiful view , hear the sound of bird and see the local monkey. the forest is conserve by goverment and local people. in the corner of the lake there is an small island . we easy to find the toilet and food stall. we also see some people fishing. we just realize that we just cross three border Yogyakarta , Central Java and East Java. when we enter the border our car run slowly cos fog was down and make our vision get so short, but surround us is beautiful plantation part of the forest. we are so glad to see and enjoy this place. If you like monkeys, this is perfect place to meet them. There are lots of friendly monkeys scattered around the area."There are around 50 monkeys in this area. They came down from the mountain for some food. I guess there are no more food left in the mountain," Tamin, a street food seller at Telaga Sarangan said.
Lots of visitors took this chance for selfie. They didn't even afraid of the monkeys since most of them are tame. They even gave the monkeys some food.
"The monkeys are friendly and tame, they are not a threat," Juvita a visitor at Sarangan Lake or Telaga Sarangan Magetan said
